Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

2013 has been a challenging year for many people; the Filipino experienced the worst typhoon in the history of the world, and those of us in Jiangsu experienced the worst smoke for the first time. I could hardly breathe; and couldn’t walk out to the open without a mask!.

One of our student and family were in Hongkong for a short break; and she reported back hat  ”  the air is so bad.” Yes, what has come to be taken for granted has now become a very prized item for all of us; what is the point of wearing designer brands and dining in the best restaurants; or touching away on those wonderful mobile gadgets when we can’t be assured of the quality of the air we breathe in.

The economy is also restructuring with lots of creative destruction; many people are finding that their traditional mode of finding a living is now ending; and many at mid-life need to think about a new career to sustain their lifestyle.

Yes, the message from 2014 is we can’t take things for granted, and business will not be as usual. Against all these challenges, and the need for us all to cope and prepared well for the challenging days ahead, May we wish all and family, peace and joy in the Holiday season; Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
